The Board is to get an independent review of the effectiveness and performance of Utilities Disputes every five years.
5 February 2018
The Independent Review of Utilities Disputes 2017 [PDF 2,762 KB] was completed in July 2017, by Dr Gavin McBurnie and Dr Chris Gill of Queen Margaret University's Consumer Dispute Resolution Centre. The review was discussed with the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs in January 2018.
The Utilities Disputes Board is considering the recommendations in the review. Consultation with stakeholders will begin soon.
Please note: this review was under our previous name of The Office of the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner, and covered our only Scheme at the time - the Energy Complaints Scheme.
The first Independent Review was done by John Wood of Baljurda Comprehensive Consulting.
Mr Wood's report was presented to the Board in December 2011. The Board responded to Mr Wood's report by accepting almost all of his recommendations.
Mr Wood worked to these Terms of Reference.
